At Hooked Halifax we believe not only in supplying you with delicious fresh fish, but also the skills to be able to prepare it yourself. We know that preparing fish can seem overwhelming at first but with this workshop we are hoping to give you the confidence to go out and butcher a fish with pride and confidence. We’ll cover several techniques on how to butterfly and fillet some common fish species.
Everyone gets their own fish to work on and will be guided step by step through the process by our amazing crew.

This workshop is aimed at de-mystifying oysters. We’ll talk about different oysters (and clams) and the various ways in which they are grown, and get a chance to taste a selection from both east and west coasts.
Focus will be on shucking techniques. We’ll also discuss proper handling and storing of oysters. And yes, we’ll eat plenty of oysters!
**Price includes instruction, a sampling of oysters for practicing on, and use of our knives. If you have your own shucker, bring it along!

And best of all, you get to go home with sushi to share with the rest of the family!
